Months before Chrysler Corporation introduced its radically new body styles to a public who was at once astonished and delighted, Chuck Jordan (who’d be head of Cadillac styling and later become design chief for all of GM) caught a glimpse of what Chrysler was concocting for 1957.  (Chuck wouldn’t say what fence he was peering over at the time or reveal the strength of his binoculars.)  He was totally taken aback—nearly fell off his ladder.  Sputnik was about to orbit the earth and the huge fins on Chrysler cars made it look like they could fly to the moon.   Chuck convinced his bosses, Harley Earl and Bill Mitchell, that GM cars needed to be rocket ships as well.  By 1959, they were, but the ‘57 Chrysler 300C is what started the ultimate fin wars.   Order yours before this limited edition of 28 flies by.
