The stock market crashed on October 24, 1929, losing about half of its value in one day.  The 1930s saw corporate and personal income collapse, with U.S. unemployment soaring 600%.  A quarter of all workers were without jobs.  Fewer than 500 souls would prove to be above it all by purchasing the ultimate American automobile, a Duesenberg Model J that sold for today’s equivalent of about $300,000.  Only 3 dozen would buy its supercharged variant (Model SJ) for $400,000 or more.  It was designed while the 20s were still roaring and it was sold from 1929-1937 when the company finally succumbed.  Want one?  Fuhgeddaboudit.  But you can hang this image on your wall for a lot less.  No more than 29 will be created before we ‘break the mold’ and retire the design.  Order one on your choice of media and in a size to suit your décor.  You’ll also get a numbered Certificate of Authenticity attesting to the value, personally signed by the artist.
