The luxury hotrod model of Chrysler Corporation’s upper mid-price brand, competing with the Oldsmobile Starfire 98 from GM and the Mercury Turnpike Cruiser from Ford. What a pity. DeSoto (deceased 1961), Oldsmobile (d. 2004) and Mercury (d. 2010 with a few 2011 models produced) are all gone. 1957 Adventurer convertibles, with 345 cu. in./345 hp hemi engines, are now worth more than $250,000.
