The De Tomaso Pantera was quite the international sportscar. It was designed by the American Tom Tjaarda living in Italy and working for Ghia, manufactured by Alejandro De Tomaso, an Argentinian living in Italy and owner of De Tomaso Modena (who sold a majority stake to Ford but later bought it back and even later bought Maserati), powered by a Ford 351 Cleveland engine and distributed by/sold initially (1971-73) through Lincoln-Mercury dealers in the U.S. By 1974, Ford and De Tomaso had a falling-out, but cars were produced in Italy for many years thereafter. This is a very pretty mid-engined rear-drive 1974 Pantera L, reimagined in today’s most popular persimmon hue.
