Chevrolet was really onto something with its SSR steel-top convertible trucklet. The theory: folks who like to haul stuff might also like to put the top down. But the vehicle wasn’t as successful as GM had hoped—they sold just 6,000/year from 2003 to ‘06. We think the problem was the styling: part retro, part funk. So we’ve gone all retro, using parts (fenders, taillights, bumpers, etc.) from our fave, the ’47 Cadillac convertible. We call it the Cadolet, and here’s our rendering of it in front of the pre-war WPA-built San Diego County Administration Building. We’ll build a real Cadolet for you if you like winning lots of custom car awards, or you can have this art for a small fraction of the cost. Limited edition of just 12. Signed, numbered C of A comes with.
