Bird at Botanical

Which 2-seater came first? The Corvette or Thunderbird?  Actually, didn’t the Kaiser Darrin beat them both to market?  Whatever happened to that one?

Image Description

The Botanical Building at San Diego’s Balboa Park hosts many species of birds, but the most mythical and perhaps most classic is the one parked here in front of the lily pond: the 1955 Ford Thunderbird. America’s first modern “personal luxury car” stole many hearts and became a huge success, outselling the early Corvette by many times. Like a truly mythical creature, however, it disappeared more than once over the course of 5 decades. It was last produced in 2005. Image on gallery-wrapped canvas, ready to hang. Numbered Certificate, signed by the artist, is included. Only 55 will ever be made.
